The Evolution of Open Mic Night

You outta be in love if you’re gonna write a song. At least that’s the way Missoula singer/songwriter Jeff Overturf sees it. And if he’s the John Prine of the open mic night at Imagine Nation Brewing, Brett Schandelson, a defense attorney by day, is maybe the Dave Mathews. Maybe. In this story, producer Colin May, a bartender at the brewery who watched something special unfold, puts down that glass he was washing to find out what makes these open mic-ers tick. We’ll give you a hint: It might have something to do with Rachael Ray.
