Running Through Heartbreak

GinaBrown_CassieGina Brown’s daughter, Cassie, was 22 when she died. Gina was heartbroken. That was true as she trained as a distance runner. During one of her routes, she stopped at an irrigation ditch in Missoula and let it out. And then kept running. She’s still an amazing half-marathoner, and wrote this essay for Make It Missoula about training and finishing while dealing with her own diabetes. You wanna be inspired? Listen to this lovely radio feature by producer Nate Vernon Hegyi, who just gets it.

From Episode 3: Blobs and Heartbreak.
